WASHINGTON, D.C.

2017-2019
The street layout in Washington, D.C. is unique and recognizable thanks to the system created by Pierre L'Enfant. The city is divided into four sectors: Northwest (NW), Northeast (NE), Southeast (SE), and Southwest (SW), which converge at the US Capitol.
Wide, tree-lined avenues like Pennsylvania Avenue and Connecticut Avenue are iconic to the city. Pennsylvania Avenue connects the White House and the Capitol, serving as the nation’s main street, often used for parades and demonstrations. Connecticut Avenue, on the other hand, is known for its upscale shops, restaurants, and embassies, offering a more relaxed and elegant atmosphere. The architecture along these streets ranges from stately government buildings and historic homes to modern office towers and trendy boutiques, reflecting the city’s rich history and modern spirit.
Enjoying the city
It differs so much from my homeland in terms of color and textures, so I tried to grab them all!
